Will Codex Reset

Codex Reset & Weekly Usage Guide

Track two different times: when your weekly allowance resets, and whether an extra public reset is announced. These times may differ.

Start with your own /status reading

Check /status in your Codex client and paste the output into the home page, or enter the remaining percentage and reset date and time manually. Review before saving. This site does not sign in to or read your Codex account; update readings yourself.

Select the output’s source time zone: usually your device’s zone, or the server’s zone if copied remotely. A date without a time, or a time without a date, needs the missing part. Changing the display zone does not change a saved reset instant.

Will your allowance last until the next reset?

The weekly window is estimated as 7 days. Depletion uses your latest two readings from the same cycle where possible; otherwise it uses usage so far and elapsed time. Workload, model and task type affect usage. The countdown is an estimate, not a live account balance.

Drag the usage slider to preview a scenario; only “Save this reading” saves it. If estimated depletion is before your reset, slow down, postpone large tasks and add fresh readings to see whether your pace changes.

Public announcements and 24/48-hour estimates

A source post with a clear time can provide an announcement countdown after review. Reaching that time still requires completion confirmation. Historical estimates are guidance, not promises that a reset will happen or affect your account.

Our estimate uses the latest 16 completed archived reset intervals with a Gamma–Poisson prior of α=1 and β=72 hours. Archive coverage and scope remain uncertain, so confidence stays low. The methodology page publishes the formula, parameters and walk-forward backtest.

When data is stale, probabilities stay fixed at the last collection time. The 24/48-hour horizons start at the displayed estimate time, not now. Validated window forecasts require adequate coverage, samples and chronological backtesting.

Should you use a saved reset now?

Record the available count, expiry and whether you need to work now. Advice combines saved usage, estimated depletion and applicable announcements. Consider using a reset if allowance is nearly depleted and you need to work; consider waiting if allowance covers a nearby reliable announcement. No resets are redeemed or deducted automatically.

Saved reset grants and automatic allowance resets are counted separately. Check your account for availability and expiry. Do not keep waiting only because a historical probability is high.

Alerts and sharing on X

Keep the page open for page alerts, or export reset events to a calendar. Background push is available only when the service is ready and you authorize it; check the settings panel for current availability.

“Ask for a reset” prepares a reply draft with this site’s URL and a usage image. Copy or download the image and attach it on X yourself. You control the final text, attachment and posting.
